Odisha Biotech Park Private Limited

Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) on a mandate by Science & Technology Department, Government of Odisha have awarded development of Biotech Pharma IT Park at Bhubaneswar on PPP to Odisha Biotech Park. Odisha Biotech Park has entered into Lease cum Development agreement with IDCO for the development of project on PPP basis.

Biotechnology Corridor (BT Corridor): 

The Park would provide a few Plug & Play R & D Infrastructure in form of multi – tenanted modular wet laboratories of international standard or / and built – to – suit plots. All Bio Safety measures would be adhered to with reference to GOI/GOO guidelines.

  • Modular Wet Labs: These would include plug and play modular Laboratories targeting driven small and midsized research organizations.
  • Loaded wet labs: These would be furnished by some basic equipment required by the biotech industry, and would be given to companies on a lease basis.
  • Built-suit-Plots: Single occupancy Built to suit sites will be fully serviced and would be available to tenants to construct their customized R&D or manufacturing facilities in campus setting. These would be offered on long them ground lease terms.
  • Patent Cell:  A provision to be set up for legal consultancy in patents.

Common Amenities: –

  1. Gas Chambers- for different types of gases would be connected to the wet labs through high safety gas pipelines. The gas chambers that would be housed in the park are liquid Nitrogen storage chamber, Hydrogen chamber LPG Chamber and Helium Chamber etc.
  2. Dedicated Power Feeder- The Park would provide a 100% back-up facility to its tenants from    the power plant.
  3. Effluent Neutralization and Disposal Plant- Effluent neutralization and disposal plant would     be used for the collection, treatment and disposal of effluents from the wet laboratories at the park. The plant would be dedicated to continuous neutralisation of spent acid from the various labs operating in the park. Effective management and control of the processes used for effluent treatment would help to achieve more effective compliance with legislation and further improve the park’s public image.
  4. Sewage Treatment plant -Sewage pipes would be laid all through the park for the removal of chiefly non-harmful liquid wastes from the wet laboratories and rainwater. These liquid wastes would be treated at the sewage plant for their future purposeful use.
  5. Incinerator-Need for a common incinerator to take care of pollution issues. The incinerator as per the government of India guidelines and other applicable standards. Further such development made by any private entities thereon will also have to follow the Government of India guidelines and other applicable standards.
  6. Animal House – The animal house will be available as a common resource facility for biotech companies to undertake their toxicology studies. The animal house has to be developed as per the Government of India guidelines and other applicable standards. Further such development made India guidelines and other applicable standards.
  7. Cold Storage Chamber
  8. Landscaping, garden, Parks; and
  9. High quality round the clock facility management and maintenance services.
  10. Uninterrupted quality power supply, internal roads and such other services for the project;

 IT Corridor -The Proposed Park would provide multi tenanted warm shell space and bare shell space. This would entail needs primarily for Bio-Informatics.

This corridor will offer two types of facilities:

  • Bare Shell Space, which would have only the physical of a building available to IT companies for sale.
  • Warm Shell Space, which would offer furnished labs with necessary infrastructure, such as computer desks, filing cabinets, etc to be given on a lease basis.

Commercial Space- Area will be earmarked to be used to develop quality commercial space for catering to needs of the tenants of the park. This would consist of the services block and may include the following: –

  • Auditorium
  • Food Court
  • Service Apartments or Guest House/Hostels
  • Conference Hall
